Our Story
Back in 2012 , fresh out of university Dintle decided to start an NGO to empower young girls through mentoring and hosting various workshops. Together with some friends they rolled up their sleeves and adopted their first school in Ga-Rankuwa , Dintle’s hometown, a township in the north of Pretoria in South Africa.
Since then, Dintle has continued helping others. Over the years she has seen many learners struggling to decide what to study, where to study and how to get funding for their studies. Dintle has also seen many learners not qualifying for their desired programmes because they were not aware of the entry requirements and the application process.
Dintle realised that most young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, don't have ACCESS to INFORMATION. Her observations and frustrations drove her to start Thuto Thusa and develop tools that will assist students to map out their future by providing them with as much information and guidance as possible in an engaging and easily accessible format.
At Thuto Thusa we want to help young people identify their strengths, skills and talents and give them information that we all wish we had when we were in high school, college and university and help them succeed.
